ustainable Farming Model: Uganda Adopts 2 Multi-Stage Incubators with 90,720-Egg Capacity

2025-05-05

In a lush rural area of central Uganda, the early morning air carries the cheerful sound of newly hatched chicks. For years, a local poultry cooperative has supplied quality chicks to surrounding farmers, but traditional hatching methods were limited by climate and seasonal fluctuations.

In 2025, we delivered two Multi-Stage Incubators, each with a capacity of 90,720 eggs, providing a total incubation capability of over 180,000 eggs. This installation represents a major leap forward for the cooperative’s operations.

Distinct Advantages of Multi-Stage Design
Unlike single-stage systems, a multi-stage incubator allows eggs at different developmental stages to share the same machine, enabling continuous loading and hatching.

  • Continuous Production – Maintains a steady supply of chicks to meet Uganda’s growing demand for broilers and layers.

  • Energy Reuse – Embryos at different stages balance heat naturally, reducing electricity consumption.

  • Climate Adaptability – Built-in ventilation and humidity control keep conditions uniform in Uganda’s warm, humid environment.

Operational Results
Since commissioning, the cooperative has reported a chick survival rate above 97%, while achieving nearly 20% energy savings. Farmers now receive healthy chicks year-round, improving household incomes across the region.

Market Impact
This project represents more than an equipment upgrade—it is a model of sustainable agriculture. By embracing advanced multi-stage incubation technology, Uganda’s rural poultry production has moved from small-scale to efficient, continuous operation, offering a replicable success story for East Africa.
